The first 1000 cars were referred to as the "Apprentice Edition" Solstice. Customers were invited to submit orders for the first 1,000 production vehicles on April 15, 2005, in an event tied to the Solstice's appearance on an episode of NBC's 'The Apprentice' TV show. It took only 41 minutes to pre-sell the exclusive "First 1,000" cars, which feature sequential VIN numbering, special badging & certificate of authenticity.
What makes # 823 so collectible is that it has only been driven a total of 146 actual miles since delivery. Every piece of documentation has been carefully preserved for the discriminating collector. We have copies of all customer correspondence from order to delivery. We even have the original temp license plate & dealer stock # key tag presented to the first owner. Also included are all the factory authorized promotional accessories & give aways to the first 1K owners which include, custom car cover, key chain, letter of authenticity signed by Bob Lutz (who is known as the "Father of the Solstice" of General Motors, hat, t-shirt, every sale brochure & promotional CD, scale model in exact color (never out of box) & the covetted leather bound sales book (never taken out of the box) produced for this car. We have the window sticker, customer order sheet, copy of deposit check, sales invoice & GMAC contract. This has got to be the lowest mileage & best documented '06 Solstice on the planet. It has been in proper indoor storage since new.
