Description: BARNSTABLE -- A Yarmouthport woman was struck and killed by an SUV while she was walking along Phinneys Lane late Friday night. Sandra Barrett, 36, of Union Street, died after being struck by the driver of a dark Range Rover at 11:30 pm at the intersection of Phinneys Lane and Old Jail Lane. The driver, who police would not identify, stopped and was interviewed by the police following the crash. No charges have been filed. The Barnstable police are investigating the accident. Barrett, who was lying on the roadway when rescue crews arrived, was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, according to the Barnstable police. capecodonline.com
