First Lady Michelle Obama has challenged some of the famous chefs from the Food Network to a special “Iron Chef America” battle. The special two-hour episode, billed as “Super Chef’s Battle, The Greatest Night in Culinary History," will be aired this Sunday (January 3) on the Food Network at 8p/7c. The challenge? Make five dishes using ingredients from the first lady’s White House garden. In the competition, filmed last summer, Executive White House Chef, Christeta Comerford is paired with celebrity chef Bobby Flay battling celebrity chefs Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse. The first lady is a strong advocate of fresh, healthy ingredients for cooking, not only by famous chefs, but everyday household cooks.
