They hosted an OK Olympics thus far, only a few minor weather set backs and oh yeah, the incredibly unsafe luge track killed a guy... but, nothing that happened in the last two weeks will matter except for the outcome of today's USA v Canada Gold medal hockey game. Not the flips, the spins, the crying, the skiing, the jumping, the shooting, the sledding, the skating or even the curling... None of that stuff matters anymore. It's kind of crazy, but it's really that simple.

But does it lessen the potential for a similar kind of event to unfold on Sunday when Canada and the United States battle for gold?
