Christopher Fischer premiered his 2011 Women’s Fall/Winter Collection to fashion insiders, receiving praise for his unique approach to his luxury lifestyle brand. The collection was presented in an exclusive booth designed by Christopher, using salvaged timbers and old factory stools to create the tables and chairs for the show. Rich in both texture and color, the collection is inspired by classic Scottish tweed and marled yarns that have been reinvented in pure cashmere. Those lucky enough to view the collection were shown “must have” knitwear pieces in modern and contemporary shapes that were totally wearable and luxe. Highlights of the collection included chunky and oversized knitwear with fastenings and large sized snaps and buttons, influenced by handbag buckles and leather straps, as well as longer and leaner to-the-body pieces that emphasize length and fit. Colors included orchid, magentas and aqua blues, as well as cosmetic colors that merge with neutrals of white, beige, gray and charcoal. The designs were crafted from the purest cashmere—or yarns blended with alpaca and mohair— as well as newly introduced 100% ultrafine wool knit in the finest of gauges. Accessories remain a focal point of the collection, ranging from chunky or light and lofty infinity scarves, to lightweight woven cashmere scarves and shawls. Christopher Fischer will show the 2011 Women’s Fall/Winter Collection in Paris, at the Tranoï Femme trade show beginning March 4, 2011, as well as launch his Christopher Fischer Baby collection at the Children's Club trade show in New York City, on March 6, 2011
