They won't even let you download any app over 10MB over 3G, you think theyll let you do a 600MB+ update?
This is a welcome feature, frees up a USB port on my laptop and is very convenient :D

I hope that iOS5 is as good as we all expect. More options for voice integration would be oh so welcome. Let me listen to and respond to email and texts while driving (huge wish). But seriously, it's the one thing I'll say MS did well with their Sync technology. It is such a pleasant experience to use my iPhone in the car like that. If the phone can take even more commands from my voice I'll be ecstatic.
Add free MobileMe and Apple will be set. I bet they need that double sized data center in NC we've heard about to pull this off.

Calling Apple a hardware company is like calling McDonalds a hamburger stand.
And that would be an insult to all of the other hamburger stands!
Incidentally, Apple dealers aren't selling Macs with XP "pre-installed," they are doing it as an after-market add-on. To pre-install, they'd have to be Microsoft OEMs. I don't think we want Apple to become one of those.

Extended warranties aren't always bad though - you think I want to deal with Sling if my Solo goes on the fritz? I was happy to pay a bit extra for the security of knowing I could go back to BB for two years (especially since reviews on Amazon have consistently pointed to issues shortly after the one year mark).
And I definitely wish I'd gotten it for my HDTV whose screen crapped out at 18 mos. :mad:

You know, this is a question that I've been wanting to ask for a long time, and this is not directed only at you, but to all responses similar to yours I've seen on such topics. It's an honest question I have, because it just blows my mind:
What the hell kind of relationship do you people have with your spouses?? I mean, seriously??! You need their explicit PERMISSION to buy something you want, with your money, and it gets to their point of people BEGGING their wives to let them buy something, only to be turned down?! How the hell do you get yourself into this kind of dynamic? The only plausible reason that a wife may be against it is if you guys are so short on cash, that $500 will break the account and drive you into poverty? And if this is the case, then you people should have a bit more responsibility than to beg your wives to let you buy something that you clearly can't afford. If you CAN afford it, and it is your $$, then why the hell do you even need to ask your wife in the 1st place, and what right does she have to refuse you? Do your wives make all the money? An iPad isn't a car or a house that needs to be a consensual and debated purchase. Your wife shouldn't have the ability (nor the desire) to stop you from buying one.
This is honestly something that Id like an answer to. Some of you seem to have a 'child/parent' relationship, instead of husband/wife. If she's the breadwinner of the house, and you mooch of her, fine I'd understand. But if you bring in the $$? Sounds like a disturbing and cold relationship. Why does she get to dominate you and dictate your decisions, void of any debate or discussion?

Is it just me, or does the new iTunes logo look horrible in the dock? It doesnt seem to match anything, and it just doesnt look as "clean" as the typical dock logos have been/should be. When i went to click iTunes for the first time and it changed from the nice/clean green logo to this blue cheesy looking 1995 icon, I was pretty surprised!

Something tells me that one still using a 3GS isn't likely a must have "latest and greatest" kind of consumer. I had a 3GS which I bought on Day One. ATT let nearly everyone upgrade early to the 4 so I did. It was a no brainer. Why you stuck it out w/ the 3GS I can't say but to be bitching and moaning Apple doesn't upgrade fast enough like you are is silly. If you only upgrade every 3 years what difference would more frequent upgrades possibly make in your life? I think you protesteth too much.
I am still on a 3GS and no ATT did NOT offer me any kind of early upgrade deal so I chose to spend what money I had on an iPad. I am not complaining - I'm just saying. My contract just came up and I was really looking forward to getting a new iPhone this year but now I am worried about upgrading to a small time iPhone4 refresh and being trapped into another two year contract when everyone upgrades to a fancy new iPhone5 next year.

Run on a G3? How well. I use to have problems with the speed of Panther on my G4 iMac.
Tiger seems to run better than Panther on the G3 iMacs I have at home.
One is a 400mhz G3 with 320mb RAM and it runs fine with Tiger.
But, I have noticed Tiger runs crud� on one of my friends 800mhz G4 iMacs.

I think you'd better use one of the Galaxy Tab, preferably while right next to an iPad, before you freely recommend the Galaxy Tab as a replacement.
I've tried a Galaxy Tab 7" and really liked the smaller form factor... but just for playing games. For surfing and email, I'd find 7" a little too small, but a 7" tablet is large enough to provide details and ease of control, but small enough to comfortably fit in your hands.
I didn't try it out long enough to really put it through its paces or to develop an opinion of how the OS fits together, but I had a really nice 5 minute experience with it.
BTW, I own an iPad and I'm happy with it, but I do admire the build quality of a lot of the tablets coming out. Everyone who's in the game seems to be putting out something that actually feels like a solid piece of hardware instead of the cheap feeling laptops that they usually produce.

Oh ya... he's something cheesie... this has been on my mind for a while. In january, Steve demoed GarageBand and showed how to make PodCast. Well, I've been waiting on the new MBP since early January to no avail. I also need a new lens for my photography. Waiting for apple, I've missed out on some good shots. If there's nothing new tomorrow, I'm buying the lens and then apple can wait until August to get my cash. Meh.

I have 901 shares of Apple....and I would have lost close to $18000 last week when the stock dropped, but fortunately it's only 5% of my portfolio. That and some prescient shorting mitigated my downside risk. So yeah, how about that new MacPro?

He also said no one wants to watch video or read on a mobile device. When Jobs says no one wants something or this is good enough it almost certainly means they're working on something better. At the very least it's just marketing for the current time.
