CafeMacs.com is a website/forum for all Mac users! It's a great site, and we're not too big yet, but we're looking to grow. We "need" more members to make the forums more active, so if you have some free time and feel like checkin it out, don't be afraid to register and make some posts!

I am having a question about the shake event. I have developed an application which starts a count-up timer when the shake event begins and stops the timer when the shake event ends. My question is when we try shaking two iPhones catching them in one hand, do both generate the same timer value?
Any kind of help is appreciated.

I switched as soon as the website went live. Yes, you remove the original messaging option and select the Messaging with Any Mobile.

I still need to call LAN lines for work and A-list for FamilyTalk is now available on the Nation 700 plan. I switched today by calling ATT but online they are not letting it go through yet. They said this will work online soon, but calling 611 they are setting it up today for me. Went from $89.99 to $69.99, saving $20 per month and keeping my A-list!
I also need to keep A-list for the same reason. i might also make the switch from 1400 to 700 if i can get unlimited M2M and A-list.

I've had every single iPhone released. Just sold my Verizion 32gb iP4 for $630 when I bought it BNIB off CL for $450. You don't have to be a dummy to enjoy new electronics.

I just hope they make iDisk as good or better as DropBox. iDisk in its current iteration is just awful.
It would be nicer if they just licensed DropBox. I mean the AppleCare tool has been a third party product for years, and we just kinda hope that it actually works if and when we need it.
Why can't they just pass the ball to people that know the terrain better? Infrastructure improves, sales improve, free riders are happy, Amazon S3 doesn't buckle because hell how many Apple customers are there using a measly Gig to sync their Address Books anyway...
I just don't know what the fiscal advantage is to keeping their clunky system in-house and betting a $4.5M domain name will help Store Geniuses meet their attach rate quotas.

I need more of you a$$holes to switch to Verizon, thanks to you and Ma Bell I still can't get a decent 3G signal in any airport, city or crowded space. And I can't go CDMA because I go overseas a lot. Otherwise I would have switched in February.

It was set to spellcheck all outgoing messages automatically, but lost the location of its dictionary. How do you think Notes would handle that? Just inform the user, "I can't spellcheck, but would you like me send out the message anyway?", right? Wrong! It wouldn't let the user send any mail at all, until I remoted in and disabled the spellcheck entirely. When I was back on site today, I had to reinstall Notes on her machine to fix it.

i'm not to keen on this whole cloud computing concept that is floating around at the moment. Anyone else have doubts?

Most people don't call it a 'cloud,' but an amazing number of people pretty much just use Facebook as their only photo-storage facility. Forget the fact that many of them become down-rezzed when doing so...and that's before you get into conversations about how safe the data is and how you can access it. Those kind of thoughts don't even enter most people's minds.
I've heard from so many people who have lost entire computer drives and kind of laugh it off 'cause their photos are on Facebook and their music is on their iPod.
You and I may see the downsides to cloud computing compared to what we do now, but for these people a better cloud-computing-workflow from a company like Apple would actually be a huge step UP.

I doubt it. microMV is Sony's format and it doesn't look like anyone else is supporting it. So unless Sony decides to support Macs, we won't be using microMV with iMovie.

I just wanted to give people a headsup that WalMart.com is selling the Black Wireless controllers for $24.96. So if you have been needing a new controller now is a great time to pick one up.

Hi everyone. This is actually my very first post, saw this thread and thought why not. So, here's my first little creation. I originally used this button-like design for SADD at my school, and later swapped out the SADD logo with an Apple logo I did quite some editing with. Enjoy.
