Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Another year has passed and it's time again to stuff our faces, be joyous with family and participate in every other cliche holiday activity known to man. None more cliche than watching Football... The games are on but nobody really cares. You might catch a series or a penalty call between trips to the store for more whipped cream and the kitchen to pick at string beans, but the focus is never really fully on the games. Maybe thats because the matchups on Thanksgiving usually SUCK!!! Not like Christmas and the NBA, where organizers usually try to pick out intriguing games between rival players, teams or even out of market rookie sensations.
The N-F-aiLure this and every year is to allow tradition to override competition. The Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys play every year and have done so since 1945, because it's a tradition. I get it, we're American and we love traditions, but somehow we have to assign more intriguing games for this day. This year features two sure blowouts (Lions 0-11 vs Titans 10-1) & (Cowboys 7-4 vs Seahawks 2-9) I mean COME ON! If the powers that be have the ability to FLEX the game on Sunday night to feature the best possible matchup, then why can't they FLEX two games to feature the best possible matchups for Thanksgiving.
Just a thought... Enjoy the bird!
