Deepika Padukone has bagged a role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next, a clear endorsement of her talent from the reputed director.
Vishal, who has in the past directed critically acclaimed films such as Omkara, Kaminey and Saat Khoon Maaf, is known to cast talented actors in challenging roles.
Deepika is obviously excited to get his nod for the film which will begin production in early 2011.
“Yes its true!signed a film with vishal bhardwaj!I’m really really excited…he’s a genius!!:-)” Deepika tweeted earlier today. Yesterday she told Mumbai Mirror that Bhardwaj was impressed with her work in Love Aaj Kal and Karthik Calling Karthik.
He told me that ever since he watched these films, he has been writing this script keeping me in mind. It’s a dream come true for me and I always wanted to work with him, especially because he is considered one of the best directors in the country today. We all know he is extremely talented and I am looking forward to working with him.”
Deepika says she agreed to do Vishal’s film without even asking who would be the male lead in the film. last month TOI reported that Vishal Bhardwaj plans to make a romantic film titled Dreams with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Films. Vishal and Ekta had met on numerous occasions since April without letting out a hint as to what was cooking. Deepika is currently awaiting release of the following films:
Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey with co-stars Abhishek Bachchan, John Pollard, Monty Munford and Sikander Kher. lash Raj Films Lafangey Parindey directed by Pradeep Sarkar with co-stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Piyush Mishra.
Kunal Kohli production Break Ke Baad directed by Danish Aslam with co-stars Imran Khan, Shahana Goswami and Sharmila Tagore.
