Mahima Choudhury

Mahima Choudhury may have the courage to take her mentor of the stature of Subhash Ghai by his horns in the court, and also settle the matter in the most diplomatic way possible.

But the Pardes girl lacks the same intelligence and diplomacy when it comes to dealings with her producers for roles in their films.

In what is clearly playing second fiddle to a host of actresses of her stature like Urmila in Deewane, Shilpa Shetty in Dhadkan, Mahima coats her lesser options as 'bringing variety to acting and picking up on performance-oriented roles'.

At a time when the actress should have taken stock of the situation and signed films with only her in the lead, Mahima goes straight ahead and commits the same mistake again. This time she's hero Ajay Devgan's second choice after Karishma Kapoor in Nitin Raj's Rahe Na Rahe Hum.

What is it that attracts Mahima Choudhury to second leads? Is it really the significance of the role as she urges you to believe? Or is the incentive to work opposite that tall, dark and not so bad looking husband of Kajol?

We chose not to believe the rumors of the 'growing coziness' of Mahima and Ajay and looked away when we bumped into them in an eating joint. But if Mahima continues to play second fiddle to her contemporaries in Devgan junior starrers, we will be compelled to think otherwise.
