If the writers and producers of Taken all died half way through making the film, then someone with no creative talents or intelligence (who also happened to be a good friend of Nic Cage) stumbled upon the set and decided to remake Taken from the 20 minute mark in the style of The Punisher and Death Sentence... only to fail miserably in that effort, forcing them to fall back on converting the movie to 3D as a last stitch effort to feed off an unreasonably popular fad from the late 1950's made ultra re-popular by a film about blue Native Americans.
Yup... this must be exactly what happened.
