Phillies have chance at historic rotation
Talk about sneak attacks. While the Yankees and Rangers were throwing highly public offers and counteroffers to postseason stud Cliff Lee, the Phillies slipped in the side door and walked away with the biggest prize of the offseason. It was the same kind of move that young general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. made last summer when he landed ace Roy Oswalt in a trade with the Astros. Lee and Oswalt join Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels and Joe Blanton to give Philadelphia a starting rotation of potentially historic proportions, fronting a lineup that remains unusually loaded for the league without a designated hitter.
