Well, let's be real here. It is a shooter. The game is going to mainly entail traversing levels, and shooting the enemies in the way. By nature, it is going to be repetitive. I guess I didn't feel that though, given the variety in the way you go about this; On foot, in a Warthog, in a Falcon, with a Jet Pack, in a Space Ship, with a team, by yourself. I quite liked all the various levels, and the ways the game made available to finish them.
Yes, you are right, but the story itself, in the little I've seen of it is just more of the same, but I have not given up. I'm hoping to get back into it this weekend. :)

I agree that Apple needs to come up with some new designs for their hardware.
Apple purposely wanted to keep the same designs when they transitioned from ppc to intel in order to make the experience feel seamless to the end user. I have no proof of this, it's just what I assumed because it makes so much sense.

For $500 you can buy a MacMini preinstalled with OSX Leopard which will probably (likely) come with virtualization without the need for a Windows partition.
Windows Vista looks more and more like it will totally lose the war against Leopard.
2007 is going to be the year when OSX gains huge momentum over Windows and begins to regain its throne as the most popular OS.

As an ex-employee of a computer retail store, I always used to get the questions.."What's the different between XP home & Pro?" "Does XP Pro come with Word, that's why it costs more?" Etc..
Microsoft continues to ship buggy software and confuse the hell out of people.
And for those complaining that OS X was more expensive than Windows Vista over time, think again...The updates aren't as needed from one version to the next, so you may choose to skip one or two, for example from 10.3 to 10.4, and skip to 10.5. It will cost you $129.99 (or whatever the price for 10.5 is), while Windows Vista costs a lot more, and it's just another bugged version of Windows XP.
I went Mac a year ago and will NEVER buy/build another PC.

I say iTunes Movie Store and new iPod nanos. Possibly a rev of the iMacs, since they were the first ones to go Intel.

Apple will never make a laptop that is that size because it would mean that they would have to take out the optical drive and make the computer ultimately worthless without a docking station. Apple will never make a computer that isn't fully capable from the start.
Oh come on. How often do we actually have to access our optical drives? While you may do so often, many of us almost never do and would be happy to attach an external drive every now and then or even access the disc we need over the network.
The 2 lb Sonys and Panasonics are fully capable. For many of us, that is exactly what we want, and your assertion that such a machine is not 'fully capable' may be true for you and others, but for many of us, your assertion that this is 'true' is rubbish.

With the supply being so choked up with demand already why, why why add yet another retailer. I know this might sound silly but having an Apple product is slowly loosing it's luster, loosing that "I am part of special club" feeling, that "I own something that isn't mainstream" feeling. That doesn't really exist anymore. Before you know it you will be able to by iPhones and iPads at in fancy kiosk/vending machines at airports... Wait they already do, oh Apple what have you become?
Answering my own question I am sure Apples strategy is own the tablet marketplace before anyone can take even the smallest bite out of it. They have legitimate competition coming down the line and want to put a tablets on every shelf and in every hand before anyone can catch up. It's not the slow burn the iPod or iPhone used to be it's a full on retail assault complete with carpet bombing.

Well, MMS wasn't available anywhere else in any other market worldwide on the iPhone until 3.0 came out, so no, I don't think it had anything to do with AT&T. That was just a case of Apple trying to tell everyone what makes an advanced mobile device.
Many phones here in Australia already had the ability to tether and indeed use programs like Skype over 3g.
It wasn't until people in other parts of the world got annoyed that people got features that AT&T Crippled. So yes. Indeed, I do blamed AT&T for the lack of Voip on 3G, Slow implementation of MMS and the ability to not teether until recently.

Well, that is every online game, if we're being honest. Doesn't matter what you play, there are going to be people out there who just want to ruin the experience for others. It sucks, but it is the sad reality of the online world these days. The Halo community, in my opinion, is quite good and friendly, but it doesn't take but a very small group of individuals to ruin it. My only suggestion is to play with as many friends or nice players that you know. I have a handful of real-life friends who play Halo, but I also won't hesitate to add someone who I enjoyed playing with.
I used to play a TON of Rocket Race in Halo 3. It was a crazy fun gametype, but it was also very easy to ruin for everyone, if you were that kind of person. So, I just started adding people to my friends list every chance I got when I had fun playing with people. Pretty soon, I had tons of people online who I could play with. We would fill up the lobby with actual, good players, thus ending any chance of griefing right from the start. I won't touch competitive Matchmaking any more unless I have enough people I know playing to fill up our team. Partly because of jerks, but mostly because it is just more fun when you have a team of people you know, and enjoy playing with.
Not to be an @$$ but I am so tired of that pat answer of "you just need to play with friends'. It's kind of like the answer you get when you call tech support after you spent days googling for the answer to your problem, and they start with "Did you try turning it on & off?" ;) I know they are just doing their job, but it's obviousness is still something you're tired of hearing.
Playing with friends is not always a constant option, sometimes you have to bite the proverbial bullet & play with randoms. I know for me, it is a necessity because I need to badly improve my skills. Have randoms tell me I suck is a no biggie, after all they don't say much when I own them. Letting your friends down cause you aren't that good does suck.
What also sucks, and I still stick with my call,is that the Halo community contains the largest number of @$$hats to ever discover a microphone. From the well documented You Tube video of random players verbally harassing a gay player before a match even starts. To the almost pathetic way some players are addicted to the 'N' word. To the now immortal play style of wanting to be the only player who gets the best weapon or vehicle, and are willing to kill teammates to get it.
Don't get me wrong, players use of the 'n' word isn't exclusive to Halo. I would say it was actually worse in Rainbow 6, but that's not the point. I believe that there's just something about Halo that brings out the worst in players. I'm reminded of the story of Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson the former UFC champ who won't play Halo online because of the crap on Halo. I used to play quite a bit of CoD MW2. When the Halo community as a whole thought the game was crap, it wasn't too bad. When they changed their mind, the game made it's hastier descent into the slums it's in now.
I know it is every game on every system that has more than it's share of @$$hats, that goes without saying. I just believe ( and from reading some of the comments on Kotaku about the recent 1 day bannings of some players for abusing farming in Reach ) that the Halo community has more than it's share of people who's manhood is defined by playing online from the relative safety of their bedroom.

Does anyone have the list of the slogans for the last few years and how they related to any product releases?? I believe this is a deliberate red herring by Apple. Pigs might be in the air - flying?
Either that or its something small(ish) like new Airport Express iTunes streaming thing. Maybe trying to make 2008 the year that everyone does away with CDs and downloads all their music and streams it around the house.
What about an Apple Radio of some sort? Able to play DAB radio and stream your iTunes.

I was just on the phone with Apple for about 45min to an hour (waiting). My battery serial number wouldn't take. The guy said it was because the page is bogged down. So you may want to save yourself a phone call and just wait until tomorrow, the next day, or late at night or something...

The C2D MBP was relieved of the whine and some other issues one they moved to C2D. If the MacBook becomes free of these issues as well with this move than the small update is still great news.

To all those cutting military by huge percentages, what are your plans to deal with the millions of unemployed that would produce?
Where my budget is concerned, since I am not only cutting but also investing in forward looking projects/industries and also increasing student funding support, military personnel retired from active duty could find employment in the new jobs that would be created that way or go get higher education through the GI bill which now has more fund available along with hopefully reduced tuitions thanks to my investment in education. As for the defense contractors, part of their business would be salvaged through my increased investment in NASA where propulsion technology is concerned, also a rump business of supplying a reduced military would remain, I also continue to invest moneys into nuclear technology as I do believe in the nuclear deterrent. They also would have new markets with my spending increase in domestic security. That wouldn't cover all of it, not by far actually but then business models need to evolve in a free market if they want to survive. And if Israel et al. can't afford to take care of their own ****, well too bad. If people get laid of in the defense industry, well again, I am investing in forward looking projects that should in the short to mid terms create a new job boom.
My budget fixes the deficit not through across the board cutting but through fixing the income base of government by bringing taxes for the extremely wealthy back to appropriate levels and cutting subsidies for industries and countries that don't need it and/or don't deserve it.

My budget fixes the deficit not through across the board cutting but through fixing the income base of government by bringing taxes for the extremely wealthy back to appropriate levels and cutting subsidies for industries and countries that don't need it and/or don't deserve it.
