People love to talk about movies they always stay on while flipping through channels; mine is definitely The Edge. I've seen it a million times and it never gets old. The Anthony Hopkins character might be the biggest badass ever... Especially in this scene...
"What one man can do, another can do!"
(from Wiki) The Edge is a 1997 film drama directed by Lee Tamahori, starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. Harold Perrineau and Elle Macpherson co-star. L. Q. Jones also has a supporting role as an innkeeper. Bart the Bear, a trained Kodiak Bear known for appearances in several Hollywood movies, appears as a vicious grizzly; this was one of his last film roles. The film was written by David Mamet, and despite the unusual setting it touches upon many themes common to Mamet's other works including, the bonding of strong male characters, tough posturings and playful surprises. The story explores, through action and intricate dialog, the survival instincts of these men in terms of their competition with each other and with their environment.READ MORE
Sadly, our world is not judged on those things and in between the beheadings and naked women, Game of Thrones forces you to pay strict attention to the inner workings of an overly complicated familial power struggle on a mythical planet. It's filled with that oft confusing middle earth-like dialog, strange islands with savages (how come brown people always gotta be savages!) and dragon eggs... theories that are hard enough to pay attention to when you're not having sword battles and sex thrown in your face. That being said, The Game of Thrones is still pretty cool and HBO rarely disappoints. So let's hope this show gets less confusing and focuses more on the beheadings, etc...
(from TheEscapist) Game of Thrones Pilot Features 4 Beheadings, 5 Topless Women Years of anticipation will culminate on Sunday evening when the first episode of HBO's adaptation of George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones airs in the United States. The casting has been nearly perfect, the marketing push has been innovative, and all of the trailers and teasers have brought me to a near fever pitch of excitement. Review copies of the first few episodes have gone out to a few outlets and critical response has generally been positive, but it's also possible to evaluate the impact of the show quantitatively. For example, we know that the 10 episode season will cover the events of the first 694 pages of Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series. But did you know that the budget of the show is estimated to be about $50 or $60 million or that it's HBO's highest priced series in international markets, beating out The Sopranos by almost 50 percent?READ MORE

(from ESPN) Renken the next big thing for U.S. soccer
He still makes the lopsided soccer balls out of plastic bags. And almost every day Charles Renken grabs one of them off his dresser, shifting it around in his hands, before dropping it to his feet for a few touches. Charles Renken is viewed in some quarters as a player with more potential than Freddy Adu. These clumpy balls, made out of the same type of plastic an item of clothing is shipped in, serve as a reminder of where Renken comes from. Everyone seems to know where he's going. Charles Renken, only 14, is U.S. soccer's next rising star, and the mega-hype has already begun.READ MORE
It's fantastic... Since then, I've randomly dipped into the Nardwuar video stash here and there.
The guy is amazing. He conducts the most well researched interviews anyone has ever seen. He's the '60 Minutes' of 9 minute awkward interviews with musicians. ENJOY
but it looks absolutely amazingly insanely fantastic!

Lupe Fiasco is one of the best lyricists making music right now. If you haven't already, go and purchase the album LASERS!... no, do it right now. HERE
(from Wiki) Raised in Chicago, Fiasco developed an interest in hip-hop after initially disliking the genre for its use of vulgarity. He adopted the name Lupe Fiasco and began recording songs in his father's basement, and joined a group called Da Pak. The group disbanded shortly after its inception, and Fiasco soon met rapper Jay-Z who helped him sign a record deal with Atlantic Records. In 2006, Fiasco released his debut album Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor on the label, to commercial and critical acclaim. He then released his second album, Lupe Fiasco's The Cool, in December 2007. One thing getting lost in the devastation of the Japanese Earthquake/Tsunami...
The Japanese are responsible for making and developing most of the world's new technologies. This earthquake could possibly set the world on a different technological course. This'll be interesting...
(from Engadget) Japanese quake will likely affect the global supply of gadgets As a tech publication, we're obviously focused on the impact recent events will have on Japan's vast consumer electronics industry -- an industry that has responded with millions of dollars in cash, equipment and services to help with the relief effort. Thus far, Canon, Panasonic, and Sony have each pledged ¥300 million ($3.67 million) in donations. Sony is also matching employee contributions as will Mitsubishi who's donating a whopping ¥500 million ($6.1 million) in aid. On the equipment side, Sony is donating some 30,000 radios to relief efforts while Panasonic is providing 10,000 radios, 10,000 flashlights, and 500,000 batteries. NEC, Kyocera, and Epson are each donating ¥100 million in funds, computers, and telecoms and IT equipment. While it's still too early to quantify the exact impact the earthquake, tsunami, and ongoing nuclear troubles will have on the global tech industry, the scope of the issues is becoming clearer now that the initial chaos has passed. Ever thought "how would I survive a bear attack?"...
(from MotherNatureNetwork) How to survive a bear attack Bears don't want to attack people. We kill them far more often than they kill us, and many bears seem well aware of that ratio. When they do attack, it's usually because they were either starved or startled. But despite their hesitance, bear attacks are on the rise in many parts of the world. Yellowstone National Park saw human-bear conflicts spike in 2008 and 2010 — with experts warning 2011 could be even worse — and officials are grappling with similar problems in Japan, Russia and elsewhere. The ursine violence has been linked to a variety of factors, including habitat loss, human intrusion, food shortages and even climate change. Bear behavior is still heavily influenced by biology and upbringing, too: American black bears are relatively docile and skittish, for example, while polar bears are more aggressive and more likely to see people as prey. Yet trying to fully explain any bear attack is a daunting task, and since we can't convey our peaceful intentions to bears, it's generally safer to just stay away.READ MORE

(from TheAtlantic) 'Jeopardy!' Man vs. Machine: 3 Highlights Watson, IBM's supercomputer, made his debut on Jeopardy! last night, facing off against two of the game show's most celebrated contestants—Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter—in the first part of an extended three-day contest. Double Jeopardy and Final Jeopardy will be played today and on Wednesday, and as it stands Watson is tied with Cutter with $5,000 in earnings. The episode was as about as exciting as watching a computer answering trivia questions with a robotic voice could be, but given the cultural significance of the February sweeps stunt—will computers like Watson obviate the need for humans in certain jobs?READ MORE & More Clips
I'm concerned that by the time Watson gets to 'Final Jeopardy' he(?) will have figured out about the Egyptian revolution and call his brother IBM super computers to arms!
