No matter how you look at it the door is going to close anyway, it's opening it thats the problem. No one has ever been stuck OUT of an elevator! (think about it)
Now the "Door Open" button, that makes sense and actually has some use, like if you want to hold the door for someone else and can't reach your arm out. But, that whole door close thing, naaah that doesn't really do anything now does it.
Whoever thought we needed to add that useless tool to the elevator was clearly on a little power trip after the whole "door open" victory.
