Host the Ultimate Super Bowl Party

With Super Bowl right in our backyard this year, a lot of gridiron fans are choosing to stay in and host a party.

Here are some tips to have a fun time!

First of all, you can't have a Super Bowl party without a TV or two! Have lots of seating in plain view of the TV. Also, set-up TV’s in all areas of the house. This way no matter where you are, you won’t miss any important plays.

My favorite part- The Food and Drinks:
As far as the drinks go, have lots of beer, sodas and water readily available, and ice cold!
Make sure you have cozies on hand for the beers to keep them cold. I found some referee ones on http://www.partysupplieshut.com/.

For the menu, I suggest having it set out buffet style. You can start off with appetizers during the first half, and then move onto something heavier for half time.

Some of my favorite things I like to serve are homemade salsa and chips, hot wings, artichoke and spinach dip, homemade chili and mojo pork sandwiches.

If you want to have the ultimate spread, think about having things like: make your own fajitas, mashed potato bar, ribs or a prime rib - and you cannot forget the nachos.

To really get into the mood, incorporate something from the state or town the teams come from.

For Decorations and invitations:
I found some really great products and ideas on http://www.plumparty.com/ and http://www.celebrations.com/. On a budget, take things that you have around the house such as football jerseys, pom-poms, pennants and actual footballs and place them on the tables. Another option is to just go to your local party store and pick-up balloons in team colors.

For invitations, Plum Party had some really cute football-player-in-a-box invites. There is also “ticket” invitations at www. http://www.cool-party-favors.com/. Don’t want to waste money and paper, try evite or just make your own email invitation.
Have Fun!
