Facebook sucks! If the term social networking applies to this site then why do I find it so difficult to be social and network anything useful. After spending a good hour trying to mess around the various shitty NEW FACEBOOK features to spread the word about pETER aUTO's mixtape, I settled on creating an event. It's the only way to reach more than 3 people at once and although it's probably misleading, hopefully it'll be effective in getting people to listen to the music. The site has basically become the equivalent of flickr.com only with more options to comment. It's the most self-indulgent website in the history of "social networking." While it's good for boosting your social resume, it doesn't actually offer a way to be SOCIAL. I'm in a relationship, I took a picture, I have a job, I went to college, I poked you, I like quotes, I like movies. If social by definition means: relating to or designed for activities in which people meet each other for pleasure, then what hell is social about Facebook. If you can not actually MEET, in the sense of speaking with someone face to face and interacting with their being, then why even include the world social in this websites function. The website is designed for YOU, not WE. Personal publication. Personal promotion. Personal interaction. Personal Networking.... and after all that I couldn't even socially promote a person while using it. Facebook, I'm done with you. YOU suck!
